Pogenon Books is proud to feature our first published book series: The Gifted of Ada Ev by author Michael C. Beard. Books 1 – 3 are listed below, and we are excited to announce that Book 4 is in development.

In Book 1 of The Gifted of Ada Ev, the world of Ada Ev flourishes under the stewardship of the Beloran. But every now and then, for many generations of mankind, the Beloran withdraw for a period of dormancy. The care of the land and its people falls to the work of the Gifted, those who exhibit traits of the Beloran. It doesn’t take long, however, for many to doubt old teachings and follow dangerous, deadly paths. It is easiest simply to ignore old tales of the Beloran and try to live an uncomplicated life of quiet simplicity.
Paq is one of the Gifted, a Wanderer. He lives during a time of Beloran absence. He begins his first journey as a Wanderer by traveling north in response to a call that leads him into the mysterious world of the Beloran, the formidable abilities of other gifted mortals, and rumor of a brewing war between two powerful regions. He wants to enjoy the exciting world opening up to him all on his own, but the persistent company of an annoying Seer spoils the early days of his experience. Reluctantly, at just seventeen years of age, he becomes leader of a team of other Gifted companions.

In Book 2 of The Gifted of Ada Ev, Paq is troubled by a calling unlike any he has had before. He resists and rejects the call, disturbing those around him. The Beloran are also disturbed by Paq’s calling and join his quest to find the cause behind what is driving him. After being challenged by his Beloran friend and Carintha, he finally decides to pursue the calling, though it will cause great pain to his mother. Paq and Carintha reunite with Leynala and Corina, and they find a new friend in Tahír Hirane of the Wise.
Together, Paq and his company pursue the only path available to them: tracking his father, Sarin. They reconstruct Sarin’s destructive past to discover who is behind Paq’s calling and what is driving his father into Wanderer madness. Along the way, Paq confronts his own fears and anger, discovering a powerful enhancement to his gifting, which elevates his skills beyond that of any other Wanderer. He becomes the Wanderer of Ada Ev.

In Book 3 of The Gifted of Ada Ev series, it’s four years after Paquin Imdarah and Carintha Alanari experience the elevation of their Gifted abilities. The Beloran ask Paq to assemble an elite group of the Gifted. They are asked to help face the challenge of imminent war between two regions who have been at odds for years. The last hope for peace lies in the skillful negotiations of a Folasi named Candon, but at the brink of success, he is captured.
The assembly of the Gifted, under Paq’s leadership, is called on to find and rescue Folasi Candon as the Beloran retreat to institute a disciplinary action they call Containment.
Paq leads his Gifted assembly north to find Candon and set negotiations for peace back on track, but he discovers a threat to Ada Ev even more dangerous than warring regions. Within the group of very powerful Gifted companions, everyone’s abilities are pushed to extreme limits as they face unexpected challenges.
